By virtue of article 11 of Law 4825/2021, case o) was added to par. 1 of article 18 of Law 4251/2014, under which third country nationals who enter the country for a specific purpose and for a specific period of time, related to the completion of the purpose, are granted by the competent consular authority, without prejudice to the general and specific provisions on visas, a national entry visa, beyond ninety (90) days, which allows them to stay for work or other reasons.

The above-mentioned entry visa is granted, inter alia, to third country nationals who are self-employed, freelancers or employees, who work remotely using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) with employers or customers outside Greece (digital nomads) for a period of up to twelve (12) months.

So far, usually, digital nomads are high-income employees or senior/hihl level independent professionals, who take benefit of the mild climate of our country and the lower cost of living compared to other European countries.
