“KREMALIS – Law Firm”, as National Expert Consultant for FreSsCo project

FreSsco (Free movement of workers and Social security coordination) is a network of independent experts in the fields of free movement of workers and the coordination of social security systems of the member-states of the EU.

The network is funded by the European Commission and is coordinated by Ghent University.

“KREMALIS-Law Firm” is one of the members of the network, representing Greece exclusively on European social insurance and coordination of the social insurance systems topics.

The members of the Law Firm who have been participating for several years, as independent national experts, are the Managing Partner of the Law Firm and Emeritus Professor in Social Insurance Law from the University of Athens, Mr. Konstantinos Kremalis and the Partner Attorney of the Firm, Dr. George Koutsoukos.

Among the duties that the above-mentioned experts have undertaken jointly in order to respond to this year’s programme (answers to ad hoc questions and questionaires for Greece) was also the special report on behalf of all the member-states of the EU, regarding the existing legal regime and the administrative practice that relate to the issue of unduly levied pension sums due to death of the beneficiary and non-timely notice of its successors.

The aforementioned report was transferred to the European Commission and was presented, as far as its general outcomes are concerned, at the annual Fressco Conference on 01.12.2016, as well as at the meeting of the European Commission that took place on 14.12.2016 in a Brussels hotel.
