A court decision gives right to pensioners of the National Bank of Greece (NBG) with regards to the Bank's supplementary pensions scheme - Personnel Assistance Account (LEPETE)”

The Single-Member Court of First Instance of Athens ruled in favor of 100 claimants - pensioners against NBG, represented by attorneys: AL. Striberis, I. Karouzos and Professor Konstantinos Kremalis, managing partner of Kremalis Law Firm, in the respective interim measures procedure.

Justice for the approximately 16,000 pensioners of the National Bank can be named as the number. 3641/18 and 3642/18 court’s decisions of the First Instance Court of Athens suspending the decision to interrupt the financing of LEPETE forces NBG to pay € 200.00 to each applicant for the period from November 2017 until a final decision is reached. These court orders oblige NBG to maintain sufficient reserves at LEPETE and to provide from these reserves part of auxiliary insurance to its members – pensioners of NBG.

This positive outcome is expected to set the path for a successful litigation in due time for a large number of Bank pensioners”.
